In recently renovated subterranean room of the Consulate in Thessaloniki, on May 9 a promotion of the National Library of Serbia exposition catalogue Serbian Literature in the First World War was held.


Consul General opened the promotion with a short speech on Serbian-Greek relations and strategic importance of City of Thessaloniki throughout Serbian history. The Catalogue was presented by M. Veskovic, Head of department for international cooperation in the Serbian Ministry of Culture and D. Puresic, Head of publishing department of the National Library of Serbia. Veskovic described to the audience the consequences of the war in the literature and its influence on the upcoming writers. He as well mentioned how important the role of Thessaloniki was for Serbs. Puresic summed up the presentation by reading Serbian poems in English.


Among the guests of the Catalogue promotion were consuls of France, Cyprus and Romania, Thessaloniki Foreign Office representatives, director of the Museom of Macedonian War, representatives of the Institute for Balkan Studies, members of other associations and Serbian diaspora.
